The trim button on the side of the motor is working both for in and out or up and down however you know it but the switch on the dash only moves the motor up/out. This is were I’m drawing the blank. I tried a new switch same results. Do I need to look were the cables come into the motor? Please help this has to be simple but I need some imput.
Thanks.
You need to get your a volt ohm meter or can be done with a test light. Take the cowl off of the engine. Follow the wires that come from the switch on the side of the engine. They should join with the wires coming from the foward controls. See which wire energizes when you when you use the motor switch to tilt it down. Find where the wire coming from the front switch ties into it. Try to trim it down and verify you arent getting power signal from it. Then run you a new wire. Unless of course you have a schematic and then you wont have to do all of this stuff because you will already know what wire it is. Your problem will probably be within 1 foot of either end of the wire we are suspecting to be open. Check it good before you run a new one.
Thanks for the help Reely Screemin I will try that.

Good! Was it on the engine side?
No in the console. I’m not sure but there are like 3 different inline connectors that don’t seem to do anything. This winter they will gone.
