trim 'up' switch not workin... down works fine

Motor is a 99 Suzuki 4 stroke (on sea pro 1700cc). The motor has a trim/up down on the side. The trim up switches are not working. When I depress the trim up switch on the motor or the throttle control all I hear is a little ‘click’ inside the cowling. The down works fine. Just had the trim switch replaced in the throttle control. Unfortunately, the motor is all the way down, so towing is not an option at this point.

I would really appreciate any thoughts, suggestions, or advice on this problem, as I was ready to take her out this weekend!! Always happens like this for me.

solenoid
go see John at hanckle, he usually has one in stock
it will take you longer to go get the part and come back, than the replacement

Before you do anything; take the cowling off. Listen to where the click noise is coming from. You will find two solinoid switches. Swap the switches and see if the motor will now go up but not down. If so, replace the bad switch. If not, then you need to keep looking for another problem. I am only telling you to try this because you said you heard a click when you tried to go up which sounds to me like the solinoid is good.
