Trinidad Tarpon- Day 1

Wow, what a day. My bud hooked up 20 minutes after being picked up.
1.5 hours later, 175/180# tarpon. This was on heavy gear, he got it to the boat 3 or 4 times , and each time it took off. Had to chase it down with the boat, amazing start.
Ended up with I think 15. My biggest was 90#, put on a great acrobatic display.
Our hook up ratio was pretty good, saw more Tarpon in the first 90 minutes than I did all summer back home.
Hooked up with a Venezuelan fishing vessel and traded sodas for lots of bait.
“rescued” divers whos boat has died, by the time we get home they will be mermaids…amazing place, thanks to JR Waites for hosting, we will be back next year.
