Capt Robbie has been wanting to put a cobia in the icebox all spring so we all slept in sat and finally gathered bait around 10 and headed to the nearshore reefs in search of some brown
First drop of the jig and in comes a nice spanish not what we were after but gets the skunk off
A couple drops later jig gets the attention of a young gag grouper
To bad he meet mr cuda before the boat
After checking a few wrecks we found a taker but he wanted nothing to do with live bait
Lucky for us a jig proved to be to good to refuse and a short fight later bam 24#er hits the box
Having declared the trip a sucess we pushed on for a little ledge probing and Robbie got a nibble
turned out to be this little fella…
Not to be out done i dropped the jig back down and after a few nice seabass i find something a little better to add to the box
Arms started getting tired so dropped a double hook and found a little touch of gray to finish out the day
