Troll Bite 7-28 "The Mover"

I had the pleasure of getting invited to go offshore with my good friend and his dad in their recently acquired 42’ Jersey Sportfish, “The Mover”. We left the dock at around 5:00 this morning from West Ashley. The trip had a rough speed-bump in the morning when we ran into a sneaky crab trap line. In went the captain to try and untangle/cut the line off the prop. After about an hour we were rolling towards the jetties.

Lines in the water at 8:05 in 130 feet. Before we could finish setting all the lines out the 30 started peeling out line. My buddy grabbed the rod and brought in a nice Wahoo to start out the day.

After a few takedowns and one peanut the bite slowed until about 1:00. A nice wahoo tore threw the spread taking down 2 baits before he committed. We got him upside the boat and he spit the hook... happens. Right as I decided to take a quick nap on the fish box the boat blew up with screams and ruckus about a Sail in our baits. Sure enough he took it and ran. After a 30 minute fight he spit the hook under the boat. It would have been my first billfish :imp: We continued to troll and caught a nice king. As we were pulling in rods 2 barracudas hopped on and gave my friend and me a fun fight, We headed back to the Hill around 3:15. Great day in South Carolina.

This is my friend with his two fish!
