First trip on the new boat and we didnt leave the marina until 7:30 a.m. Lines in at about 9:30 a.m. Fished 2 hours with nothing, then triple headed wahoo. Lines back out and fished about another hour and picked up a nice blackfin. Pulled the lines did some jigging and wore out the AJs. Back in the marina at 5. Highest water temp was 71.3 and lowest was about 69. Fished all day between 150’ and 200’ on a slick calm ocean. Not a bad way to start the season.
What depth and water temp were the aj’s in?
I would have to say that was a heck of a first day. Nice Hoo’s and that is a rather large blackfin. Great job and thanks for the pic.

Great day guys. Glad the boat handled like you wanted as well as some good fish there. Good thing Connor was on there or you may have worn that suit.

I heard of another boat that had 2 wahoo and 2 blackfin, and one other boat that had some cutoffs and some dolphin. Thats about it as far as I know.

nice job guys, sure was a flat ocean.
Very nice catch and it is great to see Mr. Stone is fishing!!!
Thanks Cracker, don’t have the boat to get out to the hoos but was wondering when the ajs started moving in. Want to try out my new jigging setup.
Maybe a dumb question, but how many miles out do you see that kind of action? I’ve a friend that frequently fishes out of Beaufort coming to Charleston next month. I was thinking (hoping) less than 15 miles.
