Left this morning with the goal to catch a billfish–busted out the double dredge and a full array of teasers. Headed to the outcrop area and put lines in at 350’. Trolled deeper looking for a temp break, but it had dissipated.
Caught slingers here & there, but nothing we were looking for. Headed out deep (1000’) but nothing going on, so tucked back in. Then, in 500’, we had a fish come on the teaser then hit the short rigger–thought we had a whitey on the hook, but apparently the marlin was eaten by this dolphin as this is what came to the boat…

Not what we headed out for, but a nice fish. I was impressed with his length at over 4 ft–which was 52 inches. Caught at least a dozen mauis, but mostly small slingers (released quite a few). Saw one boat jump off a bill of some type of 500’…back at it soon.
