Trolling 7/22 - dolphin and missed bills

Went out on my Sea Hunt with Jimmy and TooBusy for a day of wahoo trolling. It was initially a bit rough on the way out but we kept at it. We planned to put lines in at 130’ but ended up pushing out to ~200’. We tried hard for wahoo early with a few missed hits and so we switched to running a spread of ballyhoo and started getting a decent dolphin bite. A handful of small dolphin with a ton of short strikes and just about everything we put out got hit. After a few slashed baits we started running naked ballyhoo and they were quickly shredded by bills but despite feeding them back nothing would eat. Saw a nice sail jump and I suspect that is what kept slashing out baits.
Switched to high speed trolling in the late afternoon and picked through some trash tuna. One bonita came to the boat with not much of a tail left so we put out a few more wahoo lures but still couldn’t get a hookup despite the dancin’ dolphin almost getting cut in two.
Great, dry ride back in at 35mph. Not much gas burnt for a full day of trolling.

if there are no pics, it didn’t happen

If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.

Looked about like this

Got some video of Jimmy doing a biceps workout on a trash tuna. He said it got heavier for a while, guess that was when a wahoo was trying to chew it’s tail off
