Trolling/Bottom Fish/Diving 6/19

For many reasons…we left late today. Left the dock at 7 15 and had lines in at 9 just south and inshore of Outcrop in 130 ft. We trolled all way out to 180 but by far 140ft was most productive area. We trolled little less than 3 hours and caught 4 dolphin, 1 29lb king, 1 32lb wahoo, and 4 skipjack tunas. Fish were weighed on boga scale on boat. Radio action was sounding pretty slow to average for everyone and some lady was making it miserable to listen to the radio on 65 with nonsense jib jabbing. After we boated the wahoo we came into 100 ft and caught our 4 man limit of very nice sea bass with several going 20 inches…the min for scamp grouper. We moved over to one of our freedive spots and worked it hard for 3 hours but no cobia and no pompano seen. Put a tank on to check out a spot my friend said was holding some fish and it was stacked with nice fish. Unfortuneatly my freedive gun has perfect precision and my tank freeshaft gun is way different. I missed some nice fish and got 2 groupers and a dormat flounder for that dive. My personal best gag is 39 lbs and i saw the biggest gag of my life at that spot…so i will be back there sometime in the future. Scattered weeds in 150ft and no weeds where fish were caught. 78 degree water. Pink was the HOT COLOR hands down. Yellow bird chain on short rigger with pink behind it has accounted for 90 percent of dolphin in last 3 trips. Go get em!

sorry too lazy and tired to deal with pics right now

Nice report! Thanks

great report,wish i could go!

Way to catch 'em up not far, Charles in charge. Heard you went to Cuba… I mean Florida recently. Still need to see you free dive to 100 ft to believe it.
