Trolling Combos

Been a few years since I’ve purchased anything reel/rod wise. Is there anything out there fairly new that anyone really likes using. Starting to get everything ready for the coming days. Thanks as always.

What is your budget? And, are you looking to “crank fish in”, or are you looking to “fight fish”?

I switched over to Alutecnos and Talicas. No real reason other than, why not. Looking forward to some maui wowie this spring.

I don’t plan on breaking the bank but I also don’t mind paying for a couple higher quality combos if that makes sense. As far as the other questions, I don’t have a preference. It honestly just depends on what they run price wise for what they do.Just not the most knowledgeable so I wanted to ask. Thanks

I just picked up some Penn Squall 50 two speeds and paired them with some rods from PJ’s wholesale rods. Depending on where you get the reels from you’re looking at $480 to $550 for that set up each. Everyone I have talked to likes them and for the price you can’t beat them. Hold 890 yards of 50 mono.

I picked up 4 of the Avet HXW combos several years ago and love them. Also run a couple of TLD 50 LRSA’s in the spread.

The Talica’s are super nice and light for making it fun.

Sometimes I enjoy putting the rod (50w and 30w on stiff rods) in the rod holder and cranking, sticking the fish, and getting back to trolling though.
