Trolling discussion/colors

I spent some time rearranging the tackle area in my garage yesterday. I rerigged a number of lures that had questionable hooks or nicks in the line/etc. A thought popped into my head, and I wanted to get others’ opinions-

When I start out a day trolling, let’s say at SW Banks or the Gtown Hole, I generally run 5 or 6 lines. I’ll use an array of colors, generally 2 pinks, something black/purple, something blue/white, something greenish, etc. Here’s my question- after an hour or 2 of trolling, if you’ve only hooked up on 1 or 2 of those colors, should you switch your whole spread to those hot colors, or keep the non-productive colors out just in case?

I always start with with either red/black or orange/black on a planer or trolling weight. Then I run blue/white, green/yellow, pink/blue, and naked. I usually give it more than two hours but if you pick up two or three fish strictly on one bait, it would be prudent to get one or two more of those baits out there.

Do not tell fish stories where the people know you; but particularly, don’t tell them where they know the fish.
