What are some popular artificials for trolling for king mackerel? At what speed? Thanks for any replies.
Im not the authoritry but I did a lot of research on mackerel trolling this winter and tried for the first time today. Did ok with these. I just posted the video in the mackerel section but here it is again. Video includes a little more info. Not a ton more but may help a little. Run these baits 75+ yards back

Gail winds. 4 mph did the trick. Ran these 75ish yards back. Trolling 4-4.5 mph. Dilly dally idk how you know my name but no I tied one on 65# braid and one 60 # mono. Got slightly more hits on the mono but that could be because the one on the braid was a larger bait. Didn’t have a single break off. Had one tangle and my buddy dropped my spoon in the drink. Other than that. Same lures all day without issues. Had one that seemed huge and the bait came loose from the fish. But after consideration we came to the conclusion that it was foul hooked and just came loose because of hook placement.

DillyDally if the weather holds I will be out there as well 8 June. I get fewer days offshore with my size boat, but I have an old friend coming to town so hopefully it will be calm.

Little early to tell but they’re already calling for scattered thunderstorms 8june. Could change but I have the boat for 2@7e wind under 15mph or better conditions. Having said that I will be crossing my fingers for a shift or I will be in the creeks. Holler at me if you ever need someone to split gas and beer costs.

what depth were you targeting for your trolling lures?
I think they run around 4-8 feet under the surface. Hard to tell for sure when they are that far back.
