Trolling for Kings

Trying to start kingfishing this year, not really sure what I’m doing. When trolling plugs like X-Raps should I concentrate my efforts around stuff like live bottom and reefs? Or look for color changes and bait? Same question for live bait drift fishing?
How fast should I be pulling plugs?

Thanks for any advice

I pull the 20-30 footers about6-8mph. Bright colors we’ve caught 21kings,3tuna, 2cudas and 1 amberjack in the last 3 trips they really work good for us. In 55-100ft, no big ones yet, but nice eating nice(8-15 pounds) hope this helps good luck!:sunglasses:

Are you running a leader on your lures? If so, what kind/weight?

when trolling live bait your speed is slow enough so the bait are swimming freely and not being pulled. Adjust your speed while observing a bait that is 20 ft behind the boat so you can observe.
