Any suggestions on which lure to troll with for Reds and Trout while paddling. I have used lures like a Rapala stick bait, Rattle trap, and other fresh water lures without success…

My best luck trolling comes on a Rootbeer/Chart DOA paddle tail grub and either a 1/4 or 1/8 oz head. I have also had some luck with flounder on white gulps trolled real slow.

Go NOLES!!! Scalp em!!!
Have any of ya’ll tried side planer boards? Last time I fished down there I spooked a lot of fish going over them.I troll for stripers with them(standard practice for stripe-fishers) and have had success.Maybe getting your bait out away from your yak might be more productive.
The more you fish, the better you lie.

What’s a target speed for trolling a yak for trout?
Are you botoom-bumoing for the flounder at slower speeds?

most of the time…if Im moving Im trolling. on the bank side of the yak Ill use a grub under a float while on the other side no float and working closer to to the bottom. more trout then anything else and mainly around the outflows. darker the water-darker the grub.
murray, how ya doing? making it to barf this year?
