Trolling Motor Battery Question

I need to replace my trolling motor battery. Is it worth going with something like an optima deep cycle or would I be just as well off with a standard wet cell deep cyle battery?

I just use a wet cell, get the biggest you can and charge it after every use.Letting batteries sit partially discharged is the worst thing you can do for you battery.

How often do you use it and for what duration? I just have a standard deep cycle on my bass boat but I don’t use it that often so that works for me. My buddy has Optimas in his but we go out in his at least 3 times a week and at times are camping with no access to electricity for days at a time. His batteries do very well with heavy use like that.

Costco stocks optimas. Advantages are they are spillproof, no need to check water, and can be drawn down and recharged with less damage than conventional. They are more pricey.
