Just a word of advice to anyone wanting to install a trollingmotor motor on a Seaproo cc 17’. It’s not as hard as it looks. I had the fortunate opportunity of having a couple of tools and professional help and installed the motor myself. I had a piece of stainless steel given to me and a friend at work cut the pattern with a plasma torch. The rest was polishing it and smoothing the edges. I used the garage door as a hanger with a piece of rope( little bit of ingenious engineering) to support the motor as I layed out the holes to drill. Running out of time! Wife ready to go eat breakfast. Will post the rest later. Have a good day!
Back to the install. I drilled the holes and used all stainless hardware to mount the base. I then mounted the quick release to the base. This is a very wise purchase!! You can take the trolling motor off while trailering. Then mount the trollingmotor when you get to the ramp. Hardest part was designing the base plate. Like I stated earlier, I had the trollingmotor suspended by rope hanging from the rolled up garage door! I was able to slide a piece of cardboard under the motor and trace out the base with a sharpie then I eye balled the rest off the base. I cut out the card board and then traced this pattern to the stainless plate. I’ll try to add a couple of pics to show the finished mount. If anyone needs some advice I’ll be glad to share my experience. By the way I chose a Minnesota sp55
ipilot 12volt. Used up at lake Moultrie this past week, and enjoyed it very much!

we use an aluminum plate, but other that, its pretty straight forward
did you remember to install a circuit breaker at the battery?
I was going to use aluminum, but the SS was free and no worries of corrosion. Yes there is a circuit in the pos. line
Thanks!

Looks nice. If you do any running at night, you need to elevate your nav lights. It will be blocked by the motor. Or just add some of those console mounted lights and you should be good.

Thanks Geranimo!
Have already looked at some options for the running lights.

The stainless plate looks great! Looks like a very professional install. Sucks about the light. Could install some on the center console or shark eyes on the sides.
Thanks 16bayfisher! The shark eyes sounds like a good idea. I took my time on the prep work and on the install Measure twice cut once. Read that lately somewhere!
