I went to remove the lock from my trolling motor on Saturday to realize that it had rusted so bad the key would not fit much less turn the lock. Sprayed it down and going to check it again this week.
If I have to cut it off, what would be the best kind of lock to put back so it does not rust?

i mean that i have never seen a locked trolling motor, do you mean a lock to prevent theft? if not does this lock it on to the boat? if meant to prevent theft why not just take it off of the boat after fishing?
