Trolling motor mount

Need to mount a bracket to the front of my jon boat (81 Duracraft) and looking for options. Will be for a foot/wireless motor and will be removed every once and a while. Any pics would be helpful.

Here is how I did one on a whaler. I realize its not a jon boat but might give you some ideas. I used the quick release puck available from minn-kota. I can take it off/on in 30 sec.

Years ago I had a Duracraft 1542. The bow seat was about4-5" below bow rail. Duracraft made an accessory trolling motor bracket that was meant to be welded on but it was about $70 if I recall properly.

In any case,I took a piece if cardboard and made a template of what I wanted. I then took it to a machine shop and they cut and bent one out of aluminum. I then attached the bracket to the boat with ss screws and pop rivets. I think they charged me about $25.

Thanks gentlemen! I like the puck idea and will keep the whaler idea for mounting to the next skiff. I was leaning on the trick Scout had and know of a machine shop that will deliver the goods.
