The paint on some of the hardware on my minnkota trolling motor has worn off. Anyone ever touch up with paint? Curious what type of paint used?
Thanks

I typically sand and prime first. Then use a appliance paint that closely matches the motor. The appliance paint tends to be a bit harder. I have to paint my TM twice a year.

the motors are actually powder coated, so nothing is going to match exact.
if its under warranty, they will replace it.

But out of warranty, what would you suggest Chris? What C Tackle suggested?

I just replaced my shaft and the new part started to flake immediately around the new center section of the motor. I just sanded it, cleaned w/ alcohol and hit it with flat white rustolem. I blotched it a little with paper towel and it gave almost the look of powder coat.
Tape it off and you wont even be able to notice the color change.
If youre like me you will hit something soon anyhow so I wasnt too worried about perfection.
