I have a minnkota that is starting to make loud noises when running. Started out just making the noise at low speed but is starting to do it all of the time. Sort of defeats the purpose of the trolling motor. Just curious if any others have experienced this and how they got it remedied. Thanks,
Noise on a trolling motor is bad when you are trying to be silent. Pull the prop and see if you have something wound up behind it. Also if the prop is chewed up like mine that’s also bad. If you are still stumped call the manufacture and they should be able to help you out, hopefully for free.
A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.
If you haven’t gotten this straightened out yet. Give this guy a call:

I forget his name, but he’s an authorized Minn Kota rep…the only one in the state I believe. I’ve have him work on 2 for me and had them back in 2 days. Far for you, but I’m sure he’d help as much as possible over the phone.

For some reason I thought I saw someone post a while back that they could not find someone down there to do a warranty repair on a MK. You’re right.
I stand corrected. ![]()

yes, chris v does have certified MK service center in house… also he’s listed in the back of the owners manuals for SC, I believe he might be like 1 of 2 or 3
