Trolling Motor Question

I currently have a Minn Kota Rip Tide SM-55 and may be switching over to SP-55(deal).

I have the quick release bracket(RTA-19) and know was told no way around drilling more holes in the front deck to mount the QRB(RTA-17) for the SP-55.

Anyway around this?

BTW, will be selling the SP-SM-55 if anybody is interested.

Thanks.

On my old boat I had a Motorguide Great White that I replaced with a MK i-pilot. I planned to sell the boat in a few years so wanted to move the i-pilot over to the new one and put the old troller back on when I sold it. I used a rectangle of Starboard (high density polyethylene) with holes drilled to match the boat deck and then mounted the puck for the i-pilot on that. Depending on the hardware you may need to raise the plate up on short feet to make clearance for bolt heads or countersink them. Sorry but didn’t make any good photos back then but I found one where you can see a poor view of the adapter in the background in the second photo.

I plan on living forever, so far so good
