Trolling motor recommendations.

I looking to add a trolling motor to a Sea Hunt 186 Triton. The MK riptide ST #80 with the ipilot has caught my eye but I would like to hear any opinions or advice anyone can lend.

that’s the one I would suggest

There’s an informative thread going on in the “Offshore Reports” section of the forum. Doing a search will also turn up a lot of useful info. I think your eye is on the right spot judging by the reviews of Ipilot.

That would be perfect. Listen to Chris V.

I have one on my boat and am glad I bought it. I love it.

I have the powerdrive 55 lb one and like it just fine. The ipilot stuff is great. I like being able to set it and let do most of the work when running a bank or anchoring when I break off. I guess certain people like certain things though.

Greatest thing since sliced bread!

Thanks for all the quick responses. I guess I was just looking for some reassurance on the Riptide. Thanks again!

Check out BOE Marine online. They’ve got a lot of refurbished motors with warranties for a fraction of the cost. Get with Jim or Karen and you might be able to get free shipping, too.

I debated for a long while to go ipilot or copilot. The nominal cost difference is worth it for the ipiolt.

I am glad I spent the extra few dollars for the many added features of the ipilot.
