Trolling Motor

What’s the best size trolling motor and length of shaft for a 19 6 Key West BayReef? I hope to spot lock it on some near shore reefs.

From Rhodan’s website:

As a general rule we recommend the following:

12V 55lb – Boats size under 17’
24V 80lb – Boats 17’-24’
36V 120lb – Boats over 22’

I have a 36v, 120lb with a 72" shaft on my 22 foot grady. Works great.

I had a Bay Reef 186 for several years with a Minn Kota ipilot 24v 54" shaft and it was perfect for that boat.

80# I-pilot
if you intend to use it as a reef anchor, increase the shaft length to 60"
it will let you lower it farther in the water so it wont cavitate in a swell.
