Trolling the BVIs on bareboat charter.

Planning a trip to the BVIs in April '17. Will be chartering a 40 ft powercat. Trying to decide if it’s worth taking some trolling gear. We’d mainly just be trolling between anchorages, maybe around Anegada.
Anyone have experience/insight?

Squid chains work pretty well inshore here. No need for heavy gear. You’re likely to catch cudas, bonitas, jacks, king and cero mackerels. I recommend #6 or 7 wire for the last, biggest squid.

Thanks Rap. Looking like the north and south drops are easily reachable (no 60 mile runs like here). Any experience fishing for pelagics in those areas?

Plenty. PMing you my number

I chartered a sail boat in Tortolla about 3 years ago and noticed the marina rented decent trolling rods. This may be easier than dealing with the airlines.
