Other than snagging the bottom with one of the Stretches and then actually retrieving it (Success!)…I couldn’t get any bites. I am fishing blind without electronics. I guess that makes it more exciting when and if I catch one! I’ll try again soon.

The fish I saw on Friday were mostly down at the bottom in 50-60 feet of water. Not many out in the open water.

Looks like somebody paid attention to my other post! Hate that you didn’t have any luck - my best times were right at sunlight until about 8-9am when pulling them. Use your gps to follow the river channel so those humps don’t steal your lures!

You don’t work at Lake world do you? The guy there recommended the exact same set up that you had posted the other night! I also asked another friend of mine about artificial bait as he recommended the same thing too!
They’ve got to work…I just have to fish a cooler time of day than 10:30am.

They work. This was my best experience with stretches…look at the date. Just right around the corner as well…

Trolling with those deep diving plugs will probably be more productive in 2-3 weeks as the water cools down a bit. Marked quite a few fish trolling the other night about 40-50, but only picked up a few. Thought about trying shallower since Rick got some on U-rigs, but we were seeing quite a few fish at times.
Lots of times the best nighttime trolling of the year for me is early/mid Sept…anywhere from just below the surface to about 25’.

Trying to remember exactly the time of year and temps…terrible thing getting “seasoned” hahahahha! You guys may be right, seems like football had started back and the temps were down.
Here are the temps for that week back in 09’ when that fishing was really hot. I figured it was below 80* and it was. Usually the schooling starts when temp fall below 80. Seems the smaller fish will school first then the larger ones will come up as the temp cools even more. Hence why we are targeting that 20-30’ depth when the water is in the high 70’s.
