Sorry, I dont know. However, since I just bought a 4 stoke 100 Yammy, I might start. Some people talk about colored lines, lead core, bla-bla-bla. I’ll be watching this thread too. I hate buying bait.

i used to troll stretch 25 and 35 but i havent been in a couple years and just starting to get my gear together now to start back . ive got a down rigger and i want to see if anyone is using them.

This year I haven’t used them much yet, but I normally do a lot of nightime trolling in the summer with DRs. I’d defintely suggest going with DR’s instead of lead core. Especially if you don’t already have reels large enough to hold 10 or 12 colors of lead core plus backing.

My favorite night time trolling bait is a 9" Rapala Sliver.

gold/black and silver/black bombers. I use downriggers with these.

Never really trolled at night but have started way before daylight if that counts.

My boat has two downriggers and normally I will use 1 oz roadrunners with big trailers on these.

I also have several reels loaded up with lead core line, Penn 320 gti’s and a couple of the Pflueger 50’s( i think, bought these cheap on ebay and they work great and hold a full dual spool of leadcore line). I will also run roadrunners on the leadcore but I will also runs crank baits on leadcore line like Cisco Kid(very popular on Hartwell thanks to Joe Griswald).

I also take a couple of my kingfish set ups(Avet’s) and use the deep diving crank baits.

Most of my fish however come on the roadrunners.
