trophy 2359 pilot house

I tried several times to do a search but for some reason i kept getting an error.

Does anyone have a bayliner trophy 2359 or have experience on them? I found one for a good price and am thinking of getting it. Ive always been told to stay away from bayliners, but every person i found on line that has owned or currently owns a trophy 2359 couldnt be happier with it. I currently have a proline 201 WA that i run 15 to 25 miles offshore with and have been please with it, but im looking for something bigger and that has a longer range. I’m ultimately wanting to get out to the stream and do some trolling. I was looking at an Albemarle 27 express but it got sold before i could make up my mind.

I’ve heard it said that friends don’t let friends buy Bayliners. Look around for a Parker sport cabin. Check this out http://www.webstersmarine.com/03-parker.html .

oc

the boat shed in Georgetown has parkers:)

sorry cant help you with bayliner…

The reason Bayliner owners say they are happy with their boat is because they have forced themselves to believe it. They’re stuck with it. Look for another brand. You’ll be much happier in the end.

There are Bayliner boats and then there are the Trophy boats that were built after Brunswick overhauled the company. Two different animals. If it was built by Bayliner it’s pretty much a piece of crap, weak / thin laminations, lots of screws holding things together, inferior wiring and hardware. The list goes on and on. Brunswick tried to rescue the boat and rebranded it “Trophy”. I have a friend that owns a Trophy Pro center console boat and it’s a pretty solid boat. By the time Brunswick stepped in there was too much damage done as far as brand recognition so they never stood a chance. The Trophy was still an entry-level boat, not meant to compete with the Grady White and Contender types of brands. There are probably more brands other than Trophy that match what you’re wanting to do, look around and good luck.

well it sounds like my suspicions are accurate. does anyone know when brunswick took over? what year trophy may be better than the others?

Run away, don’t turn around and look back either. You’ll be glad you did one day.

Just know that almost any boat company that Brunswick took over, slowly went under and the brand no longer exists. That in and of itself speaks volumes for quality.

I did say almost any boat company, and don’t even get me started on Whalers and their cult following.

^^ What he said

I now this isn’t the popular position, but the late model trophy’s are actually pretty decent boats.
I don’t love the mercury outboards, but the hulls are solid
if it has an outboard you should be fine, if it has an I/O, run, run quickly
