anyone ever use one? the guy in the archery section at the local store swears by the,.
Is that like the cheesy rock you see over the pump put in front of a mobile home?
i have used mineral licks and stuff like that and i havent ever seen deer on them but the deer hit them at night but thats only if i put them in corn piles .
I have used one. I compared the mineral composition to other mineral blocks and they are abaout the same. Mostly salt. i will stick with the brown mineral blocks. They are fairly cheap. IMO
Sea Pro 2100 CC Bay
150 Mercury Verado
its not the best thing during deer season, they are better when put out during early antler growth. for future refferance stick one out after deer drop their antlers to promote antler growth, and closer to deer season (as their horns harden) start droppin your corn down where the rock was cus thats about when they start hittin more carbohydrates to pack on weight for the rut. hope this clears things up for you a little bit.
I’m sure how the mineral supplements work here in the lowcountry. Our soil does not seem to obsorb the minerals that well. (due to leaching)
This process works like a champ in the lower piedmont and upper part of the state. The iron rich sapperlite(red clay) seem to obsorb the mineral and the deer will wear it out. They will actually dig holes. This usually occurs in the late winter until early summer.
Never used them in the lowcountry, but my wife’s parents have 30 acres outside of Winston-Salem NC. Tried trophy rock for the first time this year and they seemed to like it a lot. I also got good results from the Black Magic Deer Cane.
