Thanks saltydog I have to agree with you that most of these donkeys wish they could do what I did and have done. I dont let it bother me just makes me strive to get better and do better than them. Everyone makes mistakes its how you learn from them that makes the difference between me and the world. And also your again correct I am a 3rd generation to grow up on folly beach and have a 4th generation im raising here too. So with that said Im done and Ill be reporting again from the north with some bluefin blood on my deck and in my stomach. Tight lines all and thanks for the sturctured critisim lol

Tongue in cheek I’m afraid. Listen to a lot of these folks, they’ve been on the water a long time and know their stuff. You’re going to take a lot of crap talk, especially when you mis-identify your species of fish but there are a lot of lessons to be learned here from these folks.
At least you are getting out there and that is half the battle. Knowledge comes with experience.
Might want to pay attention to the “Cooking Your Catch” section too. Nothing set a Masshole or Halfback apart like using Eye-tal-ian dressin’ on a freshly caught fish.
Good luck.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

FP843 - Don’t want to be a hater and my comments were in jest. Deleted them just in case they could be taken the wrong way. I think you did a great job out in the deep. Good luck up north. Send us reports and be safe!

I love me some smoked Mercury Missle. I’m done bearin chulrin and the book says I can eat one portion a week without fear so there…So let it be written. …So let it be done…
Hey Im not mad at anyone the only reason I joined this site is to keep updated info on the fishing, weather, and to make some good local contacts. Im sorry if I offended anyone with my comments earlier just giving crap talk back as it was dished out. Being a younger angler its hard to get out there and fish as much. When I can I wanna be prepared and have as much knowledge I can have to better my chances of catching fish. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Agree. I cleaned a mess of ringtails when we were going to feed a bunch of people once. Filleted and rolled in cornmeal then into the peanut oil.
Nothing but complements on the fish.
By looking at the texture of the meat I don’t think they would freeze well though, only had them fresh.
