We waited at the launch while a band of wind and rain howled through.Double checked the radar and we had a window.“Splash 'em”. The first leg of the paddle was a bit sporty, but conditions improved as we continued on. It was calm in the back of the marsh and soon big pushes let us know it just might be worth it…Sometimes there’s no need to complicate things. We threw silver dollar menhaden which were quickly destroyed…ended up with a dozen really nice ones including a 34"+ pig.Pretty good trip. The sun even decided to show up for the paddle home…

excellent report thanks
Just when I think we couldn’t fish any shallower, I see posts like this that tell me I’m not even close. There’s always something to be learned.

Henny,
Do you find this to be a year round occurrence? That the fish are this shallow all the time?
You advice has put me on a few.
Nothing better than dragging your kayak over the mouth of a creek; knowing that it hasn’t been fished by very many people at that tide.
Thanks
