I use the sullivans island ramp and it’s not as steep as the public ramps. Just got a new tandem and set it up as low as I can get it. Having trouble getting the boat off the trailer. Anybody used that silicon spray on your bunks or install the plastic slicks? Just looking for some ■■■■■■■■.
I use the silicon spray. Works great but my boat is much lighter than yours so I don’t know what kind of results you’ll get. I sprayed a whole can on my trailer bunks, b.c I prefer to dry launch my boat. After spraying, it only takes a small push to get it sliding towards the water so be careful during your first launch (ie don’t disconnect the boat from the trailer until the boat is in the water and you’re ready to launch). Made a huge difference for my setup.
I have a bunk with the teflon strips & use Liquid Roller silicon spray. I have to keep applying it but it works great when first applied to the point you want to watch out when you step on the bunk strip or you’ll be in the drink. I detach the winch cable & safety chain & have a loop in my bow line to my pickup, back in, tap my break, put in park & can get out to bow line before it tightens. Sounds complicated but I’m use to it. I lay a stern line on the wash board & grab it when I get close on the dock ramp. Bayrider 2260 about 3000 lbs

Just buy the generic stuff at a hardware store. It costs less and works well. I was told the food grade works better but don’t know if it’s true. I just use the cheap stuff and it works great.
Cooking Pam work as well as any!
Double winch w/ snatch block?
Add a winch to the bottom of winch stand, mount load rated snatch block (mines a Harkin sailboat block no corrosion) to rear most member of trailer, run smason braid dock line (strong rope) thru snatch block to form a “v” w ends of braid reaching the bow eye & hook off bottom winch. Winch off boat.
Forming a bridle (another “v” rope) off the bow eye pulls the boat off straight. Bottom of the bridle “v” you attach the end of the braid from snatch block.

Is it possible to move your bunks outward some to make boat sit lower on trailer? Might need bunks that aren’t as tall.

Unfortunately it’s as low as I can get it before the hull touches the fenders. Still haven’t gotten a chance to try the silicone yet.

I used the bunk slide strips and they made a night and day difference when trying to launch my previous boat. Just make sure if you go that route to periodically check the screws holding the strips down. Wouldn’t want the screw backing out and gouging your hull.

Just wanted to update. Regular old cheap walmart silicone spray on the bunks made a world of difference. Don’t have to float it to get it off anymore and goes on with ease. I was really surprised how much of a difference it made.
