Trout 11/28 pics

Took the new to me Native Manta Ray 14 out for its maiden voyage with my youngest on the back, and my oldest boy on the Search 13.

Trolled some grubs down our creek and our rod goes down…16" trout. Set up and continue and a short time later, our rod goes down again…17" trout.

My older boy had the skunk suit on, so I gave him our rod/grub. He trolled back and forth a couple times and had a big frown and said “I’m not catching any trout.” Right then my youngest says “LOOK AT YOUR ROD!!” It was hilarious, he’s frowning and can’t see the rod behind him and the rod was bobbing like crazy! We all had a good laugh over that one… Landed a 15" trout.

We paddled back with our 3 trout on the stringer and are just about to enjoy them for dinner tonite. Here are some pics…

By the way, I like the Manta Ray a lot, its very fast, dry and comfortable.

Great times with the boys.
I had a feeling you’d like that yak. It’s nice being able to paddle without water in the footwells.

There is nothing - absolutely nothing- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. Kenneth Grahame
