Trout and reds 11/30/12 pics

I was finally able to take Mr. Pickett up on an offer to go fishing in our back yards…combined we have over 945 years fishing in the Folly River / Clark Sound area and we were still able to pick up some new spots from each other…hit the water with his Boykin, Geechie, and with lots of artificials and a dozen mudders we were off…hit some docks on both extremes of the Folly River pulling a trout here or there but not much activity in most places…I switched to the trout trick and landed what is possibly the largest bass I have ever caught…it must have been at least 59"…was so excited about it I didn’t even measure it…but Tim said my estimate was prolly pretty close…

then we headed to the other side of Clark Sound and hit more docks…the bite was very slow all day and even these huge, monster, bull redfish channel drum bass were hitting the bait very slightly…until they realized they were hooked…we pulled another couple of 5’ long fish from 1 dock then shrunk one up just enough for me to put on the dinner table…

Geechie led us back home after an awesome half day on the water…

then we had one of those “Clark Sound Delight” sunsets…as Forrest Gump said, “I couldn’t tell where Heaven stopped and the Earth began”…

Glad you showed Tim how to catch some fish. My dad used to take a whole redfish, stuff it like a turkey and bake it in the oven. Made a sauce to go over the top of it. Make you hurt yourself eating it. Worked really well with an 6-8lb fish which are no longer legal.

Man that looks tasty. Nice catch with the trouts!
