We have had a lot of successful trout trips as of late and my mind is at ease! I think we are just fine and the future is bright with the fat females full of eggs. All trout were released and healthy to continue the cycle for generations to come. The ole trusty popping cork, fluorocarbon leader to an eye strike jig head rigged with a Zman EZ shrimp or live shrimp / live minnow has been successful. High incoming tides and High outgoing tides have been the target near flats that have structure around and good deep water access nearby. Flats that come to a point where it meets a drop in the contour have been the ticket. Tight lines!
Yeah, it’s nice to do our part to ensure a healthy trout population for the future. One year ain’t gonna hurt no one. Going to get back at them tomorrow.
