I had my rod in my truck today so during my lunch break I figured I would go see if the trout were still chewing. I have a few go to spots that I frequent on my lunch breaks that usually treat me pretty well. I had this sinking feeling that I wouldn’t even get a nibble and that the trout would start dying off because of this extreme cold snap. I had a swimming trout trick in the margarita color paired with a 3/16oz trout eye. The water was pretty murky and I fished the very beginning of the outgoing. To my surprise I ended up with 15 trout and missed about 7 others. They ranged in size from about 13" to 20" with most being over 16". All fish caught in a little under an hour and on the same bait. I used a super slow steady retrieve. All fish caught in 2-3 feet of water. I fished the deeper side of the ledge with no luck. All fish actually swam off well and aggressively. This spot is in the harbor area. I took a few pictures but then my fingers got too cold to work my iPhone.
Should of had an Android. Lol. Good to know they are feeding, that is a good sign they are not completely shutting down. Our current water temp is 43 in the harbor and I’m not sure if the backwater or tributaries would be warmer or colder.
Well that is super encouraging! Good job and thanks for the report (and support)

Great report!
That is really cool pics! Trout caught with snow as the major background! I hope they survive the next couple of nights cold. Next week looking to warm up.
