Since the Kayakers Meet & Fish was cancelled for this morning, I went out yesterday afternoon when the rain stopped for a few hours. I just made a milk crate rod holder for my yak and a bamboo anchor pin, so I wanted try out my new toys. Found some trout feeding very aggressively and caught probably a dozen on artificials. It seemed like every cast I didn’t catch a fish, they were tearing up my lures and missing the hook. Pretty fun! All caught in one spot, about 4’ of water. Biggest was 14’’.
Lots of acrobatics.
This is my only complaint about the Trout Trick. I’ve probably lost half my lures this way!
New Bamboo anchor pin doing its job! I posted a while back about having lots of bamboo available if anyone wants a piece to make an anchor pin. I seperated the good pieces from the pile so the rest could get taken by the trash man. They’re still available if anyone wants them. They are very light and work GREAT for kayaks. I cant really speak for their weight (current, wind, boat size) capacity, but I am definitely going to try it out with my 17’ CC. PM me if you would like my address to come grab one!!
Fish or no fish, can’t beat this scenery.
