Trout fishing

Hey Guys! Looks like ill be back in town for a few days for the holidays this weekend. Gonna be my first spring fishing and I can see from the reports its trout season! Any advice to a newbie on how to catch these suckers? I have a boat but its not made for going into the real shallows can I still catch these up at the mouth of pretty much any creek opening when the tides moving? Also is it worth throwing some chopped mullet to sit while im jigging for some possible flounder/reds? Sorry for all the questions just dont want to burn gas for nothing!

Creek and feeder mouths on the outgoing tide are pretty much a sure thing for trout right now

Nice! so if you had to pick is there a difference between the ashley, cooper, or wando? or am i better off going up the iop connector and towards seewee. is there such a thing as too far up the rivers into the more brackish water? appreciate the advice
