Trout OTF and hungry reds

The fishing has been good this week. Both the trout and redfish are hungry. With the weather conditions, I haven’t been able to do any sight fishing, but deep holes and structure are still holding lots of fish.

On Monday, I began the morning with some really nice redfish off the dock. Later in the day, I took my friend out along the ICW. We ended up with some trout, redfish, and a blackdrum. The fish were caught on live shrimp and Zman diesel minnowZ in 5-6ft of water.

Tuesday was rainy and foggy, but it was cool to be out there with no other boats. Found a pod of fish at the back of a creek at low tide destroying bait. Caught one feisty little guy before the rest of the fish broke up. Hit some docks on the way back in and ended with another larger redfish. When I catch larger fish that I cant take a picture of with one hand, I set my phone to take a timed picture. I set the timer but didn’t touch the screen to take a picture… oh well, he probably didn’t want his picture taken anyways. Also caught a trout.

Today was overcast and windy… not a great day to try to catch a trout on the fly. I fished a deep hole behind my house and caught a bunch of little redfish on gulp shrimp before bringing the flyrod out. Couldn’t believe it, but this little guy nailed my mustard yellow and green clouser.

Here’s some more pictures from Monday:
