My charter bailed on me at the last second, so I decided to catch up on some fishing time with my daughter Riley and her new addition to the family, Zander (lab mix puppy). We put in at Steamboat at 7am and had no problem getting a livewell full of shrimp and finger mullet. We started at a creek mouth upriver and immediately got into rat reds and small trout. 20+ nonkeeper trout and 6-7 undersized reds and 1 slot were caught before we had to bolt back to Steamboat to avoid the storms. 45 minutes later we headed toward the ocean for some trout action but had to ditch to Bohicket to avoid another round of storms and check out Tiger’s yacht. We were stuck there for about 2 1/2 hours before it was safe to go. At this time, NOONE was left on the water, so we hit the main river points and caught dozens of trout but very few keepers. All on live shrimp and finger mullet but did get a few on plastics with the biggest 19" on a TroutTrick. At about 2pm, we decided to try the reds leaving the grass, so we pulled up on a main river flat and caught about 20 reds (mostly rats but 8 mid-slots) before another round of storms was rumbling on the horizon. Overall, lots of fish caught, but mostly were juveniles which is GREAT news as I haven’t seen it like this in the past 2 1/2 years. Should make for a great fall.
Total- 50 + trout, only 4 keepers
25 + reds , 9 mid slots, no overs, the rest 10-12 inch rats
1 happy little girl and her new dog
Great report! Thanks Rad

Sounds like a good day despite dodging rain storms. No one invited you on to Tiger’s yacht to dry off and get out of the rain?
Rad, Curtis Foster (RIP) says he will watch over Zander. I remember the three of us were fishing and you said you wished you had a great boat dog, like Curtis. Well, now you do. Know your daughter had an awesome time. When’s she’s older, she’ll have to hold back and not outfish her fellas. What a great trip. Bob

Looks like a good day Rad
Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

There were some very large dudes keeping watch of the deck of the boat. I saw at least 8 crew members looking busy. Ship store employee said there was 8,000 sq. feet of living space. That sounded like a little much for a 155 ft. boat, but it is definitely impressive.

Did the same bout three weeks ago up at Sewee Bay area. We ended up with 50+ trout, 1 flounder and kept only 4 of them and the flatty. Great time though!
Hey Rad…NO pics of the yacht?
Wife said the same thing. Each time I passed it, the rain was moderate to heavy, so I didn’t get phone from dry storage.
