I’m not sure what the water temp is currently, but if the weather allows on Friday, I was going to try to find some trout around high tide. Any input from those that get out more than I? Not looking for spots to fish, just if the fish have been hanging in there normal locations. Grass edges over structure both sides of high?
I fished yesterday, mainly for trout, and I ended up with 12. All were caught within 1 hour of high tide, on main river flats, on the grassline, near and on top of isolated oyster bars in 3-4 feet of water. Water temp. was 53-56. TroutTricks and DOAs, no float
Been catching mine along the edges of the main river current in 4-6 feet of water lately. The spots have been high gradient banks with sandy or shell bottom peppered with small oyster clumps. Any place that has clear water, is adjacent to a dropoff, and has a large and distinct eddy current us usually a good spot. Freelined glow DOA is what I used 90% of the time.

Yes, the trout are still around. I agree with both responding posters. I haven’t had any luck in any small creeks lately. They’re hiding on the backside of structure and grass.
It looks like it will be cold and very windy Friday, but the weatherman has been wrong before. Be safe if you do go out!

Thanks to all, very helpful responses. It doesn’t look like the best day from a weather standpoint, but it’s what I have to work with. Sounds like I’ll try some of my normal “go to” spots. Thanks again, this is why I like this site.

I keep hoping the forcast will change. We may tell the wives we are going fishing, stop by the fish market and go have a beer. Continued thanks for your input though

Hoof between your name, your warrior 2.5 y/o fishing buddy, and your avatar, you are fast becoming my favorite poster! LOL!
I have all day today to fish - but I’m not. Icky icky weather, mega front last night, and 2 beautiful days ahead to go after them. I’ll pass.
Would have killed to be out yesterday morning though!
