Mark,
Anybody who likes fishing would love it down there. I’ll be glad to share all I know. Give me a call anytime. 931-607-8784. In a nutshell, I grew up in SC and fished the SC coast and inland lakes. I was invited down to Venice, LA, and fell in love with the place. Soon after experiencing fishing in Venice, I sold my bass boat and bought a bay boat. NO regrets! I advise anyone going for the first time time to hire a guide. I can recommend some excellent ones. Depending on one’s level of fishing experience, a guide may not be needed every time, but a guide is definitely a good idea at first. It’s the most fertile fishery I’ve ever experienced…and I’ve fished from Alaska to the Amazon River. Call me.

Looks to me like he’s trying to get some of us South Carolina boys to Louisiana.
Are you a Captain.
I would love to burn some drags on some Gathas!

I had my captain’s license years ago when I was a bass guide on Santee-Cooper. Now I just fish for fun.

Nice! Electric scaler?

I don’t think rod and reel could hurt S.C.'s fishery either with current limits. It’s our sporadic Super cold winters and overpopulated cormorants that hurt our Trout.
