Trout Top water flies

Any suggestions?

I’m heading out tomorrow morning and would like to try for some top water trout action on the fly. Never done it before so any advise is appreciated.

white gurglers with a chartreuse ice chenille underbelly have done well for me in the early am. tie a big lip so it wobbles a little more

Try trailing whatever top-water you use with 2 feet of flouro and a light clouser (Modified hopper-dropper mountain set-up). If they don’t grab the top-water you’ll have a second chance. Has worked on reds for me before, don’t see why it wouldn’t work on trout.
