I checked out your website and it does look like an excellent organization. The website stated you had reached your target membership and were resorting to a waiting list.

Black, contact Vinman on this site, or better yet, see him at the meeting tonight.

Yak, are you using the Gamagatsu round head 1/8oz jig heads?? Are you allowing the TT to FREE FALL after casting??

Were you fishing where the trout were??? IMO, I think that is the most important factor.

Along the mangroves and drop offs, im currently im FL. but i saw bugdmummys report, and i saw how to rig them…

Went out yesterday and threw nothing but Trout Tricks. Conditions were challenging, with the wind a steady 15 knots and a bright sunny day. I started out in the Cooper and the water was too dirty. About 12" vis, so I kept on moving, looking for conditions favorable to trout. Took the back way to the Wando via Beresford, trying to stay off the big water with my little Whaler. Got to the main Wando channel and found a bank I have never fished before, but looked like a good setup for trout. Vis about 2 ft+, tide and wind pushing against the bank, tide up and in the grass. Using the trolling motor, I fan-casted the bank, working against the tide so I could take my time. Eventually found a pocket of trout near a feeder creek and it was on! The the trout hit the lure on the fall, very aggressively and would even come back to hit it 2 or 3 times on the same cast if I missed the strike. This happened a lot because of the big bow in my line that I was trying to manage by “low-sticking” the rod. Ended up finding 3 “pods” of trout along the bank. This little trip reaffirmed my confidence in the TT when presented properly. I am now confident that if the trout are there, they will strike the lure, and if I am not getting strikes then the trout are not there! I used to know this, but having sorta forgotten the setup and presentation, I had tried the lure a few times with poor results and lost my confidence in it. I needed a refresher from Bob and am glad for it. Trout tricks are very supple, and you will go through a lot in a trip if you are in the trout. Maybe 1 or 2 trout per lure. Its similar to the Gulp jerk shads in their longevity.

My setup: Ralph Phillips “Trout Special” rod, 10# Powerpro tied directly to the jig. 1/8oz Gamakatsu jig. The main difference between the recommended setup is the power pro. I hate mono.

Ended up with around a dozen trout, none of pic-worthy size. The biggest in these schools was around 14". Will post pics when I get into a school of bigger size trout!

nice read O

Any luck using the TT at night in some lights?

Rigging on 1/8th ounce ball type jighead (Owner or Gamakatzu)is imperative. From my website:

The TroutTrick must be allowed to fall STRAIGHT down to create the reaction bite. With your rod pointed at the lure, reel in the slack and give a couple of jerks, then drop the rod tip to allow bait to fall STRAIGHT down again. In shallow water jerk sideways. The trout will hit it on the fall or pick it up off the bottom, hence your jerk becomes a hookset. We think the ribs create a vibration saltwater trout home in on. It is so strong that when you fish through a school of totally negative fish, they will strike with their mouths closed. Eventually you will foul hook one and realize what is going on.
