Hit the water at high tide looking to test the trout tricks I have heard so much about. Started with shrimp under a cork and caught a few trout my buddy got a rat red. we were on the fish so I tried a trout trick had one hit and that’s it . Put shrimp back on and ended the day with 7 total 13 -17 all released .

Live shrimp is hard to beat right now for all inshore species as the creeks are as full of them as I’ve seen in many years. Sometimes there is no substitute for the real deal, but I would definitely keep it in my rotation when they are on plastics.

You aren’t kidding about the shrimp in the creeks. I threw my net 3 times off a not so secret dock in Mt. P yesterday evening after the rain and caught enough to fish with for 2 hours and headed the rest. They filled a quart freezer bag I had in my cooler. I caught 9 reds dock fishing. One was about 28", one about 20" and the rest were rats. Put them all back in good shape. Creek shrimp quesadillas tonight.
