sorry no pics but last sat i was bumpin docks and rocks for shellcracker{with little success}when i realized that i had seen a few largemouth in the last couple hundred yards of trolling this bank.i havnt bass fished in 10yrs but i got wiley coyote interested in them quickly.i dug around the old skiff and the best i could come up with was 2 trout tricks,a little bigger than crappie size gold hook, and my 4ry olds 5ft spinning reel with the freshest 6pd mono on the boat. 2nd cast on a pier piling was bam/screeeeaaam/pop/dammit!!.never seen it.1 lost t trick.another 150 yards or so a dock loaded with stumps and brush hooked up again but we all know 6 pound gear in cover just dont work.2 lost trout tricks,a handfull of shellcrackers, and what a rush.

We had a club member fish the TT’s in a farm pond and absolutely whack the largemouth with em.

The TT is pretty much the same as the “shakey head” method. been around looooong before the TT.
If bass aren’t eating topwater, then a TT is pretty much a sure-fire way to catch a few bass

You are correct Will. I have used the old “wacky worm” with great results both fresh and salt for many years. A smart man just took it to the next level and called it a trout trick.
The dropshot rig is an old fresh water technique that works really well in saltwater too…Someone should rename it and market it to the saltwater guys! Next big thing maybe? J/k…TT is a great bait, but the real bread and butter was the marketing! Props for that
