Trout Tricks w/ trout eye jigs

Has anyone had success trolling with the trout tricks? or just cast and retrieve… just wondering/ thanks

Not saying you can’t catch a trout trolling a TroutTrick, but casting with a jerk, jerk, sink to bottom retrieve is what it is designed for. You need very good water clarity for it to be effective, but for the next 4-6 weeks, it will be something I will always have tied on as it will produce better than many artificials this time of year with the correct conditions.

The water in Edisto was anything but clear last week so maybe that was the reason no success with it on cast and retrieve…

I have trolled with artificals behind a kayak and been successful but, I think the magic in a TT is the jig up and drop technique.

Don’t know till you try. The Z-man variety might work better for trolling because the tail will rise up. Idk.

I have had no luck this year with the TT this year in the same spots and at the same time as last year when it was all they wanted. They much prefer the Z man jerk shad with the red trout eye. I guess its the dirty water we have had at Edisto most of the fall like Raddaddy says. HOpefully it will clear soon before it gets too cold.

I have caught very few on the TT this Fall, and it is all due to water clarity. Whenever you get “clean green” water this time of year, it’s tough to beat. At Edisto, glow DOAs (4-5 feet under a popping cork) right now have been the best producer for me.

Not sure about trolling a TT, but trolling for me has always been late Dec, and January.

Ill try most anything once , Twice if it works thanks for replys

Why try and re-invent the wheel? The TT was designed to be a vertically fished bait. Ain’t nothing vertical about trolling. I thought about it and I’ve never caught anything but bluefish on a TT when I’ve given up on the cast and started reeling it in fast. On the other hand, I’ve caught tons of bass and trout reeling a grub up fast to the boat
