Earlier this week I had several good days. On Monday, I went by myself and had a limit of trout with one measuring 26" long and weighing 6 lbs. 1 oz. The big one hit a suspending jerk bait. I called some buddies and we went Tuesday. We had 65 trout before thunderstorms ran us off. On Wednesday, we decided we were going to stay…storms or no storms. We had about 15 trout all morning. Made sandwiches for lunch in the boat and waited for the tide to start going out. We’ve found that the trout bite best for us on a falling tide. We finished out our limit of 100 trout and were in by 4:00 pm. Most of the trout were caught on 3" Bass Assassin plastic on a 1/4 oz. jig head, color Chicken on a Chain.
All trout were caught wading in water from knee deep to waist deep.

Crazy good catching there! It’s amazing the fishery in the Lou, reminds me of something else that takes a beating and doesn’t get worn down…

In LA, 25 per person, min. 12" length.
A marine biologist told us the trout population there could not be hurt with rods and reels. I think his point was that there are LOTS of trout on the LA coast, especially around Venice.
