Don’t usually post fish photos but thought I would share this one with you. These are the two largest of a very nice day. Larger one was 21".

Well, what did they eat?
Nice looking trout, would also like to know what they ate.
What is chiefly needed is skill rather than machinery.

Nothing special. I used a variety of clouser styles but I think they really liked the ones with a little extra flash tied in. Here’s a shot (sorry for the crappy picture):
I know at first glance the hooks look a little jacked up but its for a reason. I used the longer shank hooks to help with bite-offs, especially since these trout were mixed in with some blues. Also, I bent up the front a little in a jig hook fashion - they’re talking about this as the next best thing to sliced bread on one of the other flyfishing boards. Thought I would give it a try and it seemed to produce reasonable hookups.
Very nice…The trout on fly if good stuff. I got into thick a couple of times last year in 10-15 ft of water. They would inhale the fly on the swing. I wanted to bring out the 4 wt but woulda had to rig a sink tip, etc and never did it!
I fished the full sinking line with a 9wt and a floater with a 10wt (9 & 10 I know, overkill - but it sure was nice with that 15-20mph wind). With the extra large dumbell eyes I was able to get down deep enough with the floater. I also found that “seam” where you just knew they’d be sitting. Funny how the ole stream trout fishing know-how helps out every once in a while.
nice looking. i guess the 60 degree would reduce snags like on some of the new jigs. that seems to be hot in the bass world. are those mustad 34011 or some other?
