Trout

Been pretty busy lately (partly because of shad fishing), but got to do the trout thing a couple of times this week. First trip, caught about 30, all in one small area on the ICW. Good fish; the first ten were legal, except for the 11 pound red. All caught on DOA shrimp under popping corks-gold or silver flecked in moving clear water. Typical trout, but more like in the fall. Had several 18" fish.
Second trip, the fish were smaller, but still caught about 40. Same rig, but tried various colors. That seemed to make no difference.
One thing I’ve noticed: Popping corks work better in calm conditions. Probably the fish can home in on them easier, but they are also easier for me to see, and reaction time seems more important with trout.
If I can do it, anybody can.

“Fish On”

Pretty good Realfin! DOA shrimp are doing well right now. Water clarity is important. Good report. Pics are always a plus…
