Trout Tricks have been a secret with Florida and Edisto Captains for the past two years since they were experimental and not in production. They are so good that i use them to locate trout, then let my clients fish with live shrimp mud minnows or DOA shrimp since using them takes a little technique. It is basically a reaction bite as the Trout Trick is falling. www.fishingwithbob.com has a blog on how to use them, i think. I have had friends and clients offer me $20 for one, but they were in such short supply, and fish do tear them up, that i wouldn’t give them up. i am kinda glad and kinda sorry that they are now available to the public, but this is the best lure i have ever seen for trout. Will occasionally catch a spottail or flounder, but 99% trout. I think it is the vibration that does it, but i have never had a lure that was more effective on trout, day in and day out.

So, if we as Captain’s, professionals, weekenders, etc. give a report with the exact lures used such as Gulp!, DOA’s, Z-Man plastics, Assassins, TroutTricks, etc., is this also considerded spam? That’s a thin line there. There are tons of folks pushing product on this site.

Raddaddy, first of all there was no report, secondly people reporting on sucessful lures is one thing. I am sure no one around here is making money on GULP or DOA but there is a big difference between promotion and profiting. He is selling those lures unsolicited and making money in a reports section of a fishing forum. There is nothing wrong making money, hell we all do it, but the median in which he is doing it makes this SPAM. Like I already said, He is a first class guide and great person.
Does the fact I’ve so far spent at least 1K in advertising to this site have any bearing?

Bob, To answer your question with all respect sir, the answer is no. There are many people and businesses that spend money to advertise here. It does not matter how much you spent, who you are or how many posts or reports someone contributes. SPAM is wrong and it opens the flood gates to anyone. It is in the wrong place and not the way to market a business in my opinion. I hope no hard feelings, I am not questioning your character, product or integerty. I wish you much sucess and good luck with your business.
This thread is getting a little no a lot out of line. I have fished with Captain Bob not as a client but as a friend.he showed me how to fish the trout tick and it really took me several fishing trips to master and I can tell you the tricks are for real. One example I was fishing with a friend spent 1 hour of quality fishing time catching live shrimp finally get to drop i’am pitching trout tricks buddy fishing live shrimp under a cork 30 min. later he’s asking for a trout trick in that in pass 30 min. i boated 3 fish to his one and mine were bigger trout. The trout were there and they were hungery I could just reload faster I would dehook and throw back he would dehook pick up the three in the bottom of boat alone with his go to the live well pick through the shrimp until he had the one he wanted and cast back by that time I had three more in bottom of the boat. you catch more quality trout on the tricks for sure. As for spam I not sure what you mean the guy just gave you the information to help you be a better fisherman but you may be the best and catch more fish than anyone on the East coast all I can say 1. there are always 30 Tricks in my tackel bag and there is always one rig and in my hand or in the rod holder where I can reach and I never pull up to the dock with one tied on in that I do not want others to know why I have fish in well.

My opinion is that if he has spent $1k on advertising here he can post anywhere he chooses. I chartered Bob with my kids several years ago when I had no clue. We used trout tricks exclusively in Edisto and boated 27 trout in late August. Now, if you know about the challenging conditions in Edisto with a boat of noobs, that is saying something for Bob and trout tricks. I am a believer and bought a gross from him after that trip.
